Form 145 (modelo 145): what it is and how it affects your tax withholding

Updated on 30 September 2026 · By the NetoNómina team

Form 145 (modelo 145) is the form you use to tell your employer about your personal and family situation so they can calculate your IRPF withholding correctly.

What details it includes

  • Family situation: single, or married to a spouse with or without income.
  • Children and descendants under 25 who live with you.
  • Dependent relatives over 65.
  • Degree of disability, yours or your relatives'.
  • Maintenance payments you make by court order.
  • Loan for your main home taken out before 2013.

When to hand it in

When you start working for a company and whenever your situation changes: a child is born, you get married or divorced.

Handing it in is not mandatory, but if you don't, your employer will withhold as if you had no children or other circumstances.

Can I ask for more to be withheld?

Yes. On the form itself you can request a higher withholding percentage. This is useful if you have other income and want to avoid a nasty surprise in your tax return. What you cannot do is ask for less to be withheld.
