Collective agreements in Spain (convenio colectivo): how to find yours

Updated on 30 September 2026 · By the NetoNómina team

A collective agreement (convenio colectivo) is an agreement between trade unions and employers that sets working conditions for a sector or a specific company. It is binding on all workers and companies it covers.

What it regulates

  • Pay tables by category: the minimum salary you must be paid.
  • Number of extra payments and when they are paid.
  • Annual working hours, schedules and breaks.
  • Holidays and paid leave.
  • Supplements: seniority, night work, transport allowance.

How to find yours

  1. Check your contract and payslip: they usually state the applicable agreement.
  2. If it is not there, ask HR.
  3. Look up the text in the BOE (Spain's official gazette) or in the official bulletin of your region or province.

If there is no agreement

The Workers' Statute (Estatuto de los Trabajadores) and your contract apply, with the minimum wage as the floor.
